TM-230 < REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY 24. Remove A/T assembly with transfer from the vehicle using Tool. CAUTION: • Secure the torque converter to prevent it from dropping. 25. Remove the transfer from the A/T assembly. Refer to (ATX14B) or (TX15B). INSPECTION Installation and Inspection of Torque Converter check dimension "A" to ensure it is within the reference value limit. INSTALLATION Installation is in the reverse order of removal. CAUTION: • When replacing an engine or transmission you must make sure the dowels are installed correctly during re-assembly. • Improper alignment caused by missing dowels may cause vibration, oil leaks or breakage of driv- etrain components. • Do not reuse O-rings and copper washers. Refer to • When turning crankshaft, turn it clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine. transmission rotates freely without binding. • When tightening the bolts for the torque converter while securing the crankshaft pulley bolt, be sure to confirm the tightening torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt. Refer to EM-185, "Removal and Installation" When installing transmission to the engine, tighten the bolts to the specified torque as shown.
